Partnering with Dioceses & Parishes
SmartLoving offers a range of programs and resources to equip clergy, lay leaders, dioceses and parishes with the important task of marriage preparation and ongoing pastoral care for married couples.
It is no secret that marriage rates are plummeting. Faith in Jesus Christ has also taken a nosedive. Are the two related? What can we do to fix it?
It has been suggested that the large decrease in faith and Church attendance can be linked to the decline of marriage. Data suggests that the health of a person’s faith is connected with the health of that person’s family. With fewer lasting marriages and fewer children with married parents, a decline in faith seems to follow.
We believe the New Evangelisation should be a nuptial movement.
Why? The bible begins and ends with a wedding. God’s story of salvation is told as a spousal love story. The enemy wants to destroy marriage. Therefore, our parishes need to be engaged in marriage and relationship ministry as a high priority.
Catholic parishes can evangelise by becoming hubs for healthy relationships for both single and married people, with marriage ministry becoming a central and standard part of parish life.
Our mission with SmartLoving is to empower couples with skills and insights so that they become effective agents of evangelisation to which they are called. All our resources are grounded in the wisdom of the Church, particularly the Theology of the Body, and focus on teaching practical skills and theological insights to provide a comprehensive formation experience.
