Gospel Reflections for Married Couples
17 July – 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
In this week’s Gospel, we hear the challenging story of Martha and Mary.
Many married couples can equate to Martha’s experience.
While our spouse just wants to do something enjoyable, or play with the kids, the words echoing in our minds are “can’t you see that things need doing around here?”
Perhaps, sometimes our spouse may be right.
Perhaps we sometimes need to stop and enjoy the important relationships in our lives.
We need to make time for loving one another; for attending to Christ, present in our spouse and marriage.
