A Catholic Marriage Ceremony is celebrated according to the rites prescribed by the Catholic Church. This resource is designed to help you understand the elements of the Wedding Ceremony, and guide you in your spiritual reflection as you plan the  wedding service.

Much of the words used in the ceremony are already determined for you. However, there are a number of elements that offer multiple options allowing you to personalize your wedding ceremony within the guidelines that ensure it is a valid Catholic marriage.

This resource will guide you through the options and is a good basis for conversation between you. If you can, we would encourage you to spend some time reflecting on the scripture readings using the questions provided – this will greatly enhance your appreciation of your choice.
