Mercy Gospel Reflection: Sep 4

Gospel Reflections for Married Couples

4 September  – 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that “none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all of his possessions.”

It is very easy in marriage and family life to get so caught up in our work, career, home, planned vacations, and our “possessions” in life that we forget the most important things, such as the bond of marriage. Even then, Jesus reminds us that we can be so fixated on the relationship that we lose sight of Christ at the centre.

Take some time today to reflect on the presence of Christ at the centre of your marriage.

What is he asking of you this week?
