Mercy Gospel Reflection: Oct 2

Gospel Reflections for Married Couples

2 October  – 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that in living out our faith we are simply responding to God’s love with the duty that it requires.

It is easy in marriage to feel indignant when we feel that we are putting in more than our spouse.

How does this Gospel speak to your marriage relationship?

On our wedding day we made a promise (a choice) to be true to our spouse in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.

What is our duty?

Do I love my spouse for what I can get in return or do I love my spouse unconditionally?

How could you love your spouse more unconditionally this week?
